- Independent living skills
We will guide clients with specialised support for the relevant, professional help needed.
We will re-start a client’s journey from our safe haven at their most vulnerable time.
Addressing Homelessness with a Holistic Approach
Assisted Homes recognizes that people suffering from homelessness often need more than just a roof over their heads. The floating support provides a platform for the service users to make the transition to independent living as smoothly as possible. Taking on day to day responsibilities once an individual has been housed often proves overwhelming and even alien to some. Offering support during this vulnerable period is at the heart of what we strive to do at Assisted Homes.
Often clients coming to us feel frustrated that their voices are not being heard. We make it a point in our approach to allow a client to feel cared for whilst maintaining realistic expectations for their individual circumstances.
Although our service is not suitable for everyone, we tailor the support we offer for a wide range of support needs allowing us to accommodate people in various different difficult situations.

People find themselves in vulnerable situations due to various circumstances. Understanding the needs of our clients on an induvial basis is pivotal in providing effective support. Although Assisted Homes is temporary housing, we understand that individuals may need more time whilst they seek the tools that will allow them to live independently. Following vulnerable adults on their journey from homelessness to independent living is something we pride ourselves on.

Most housing associations in and around London require individuals to have a certain connection to the local boroughs which often poses difficulties, particularly with people who may have found themselves in several areas over a period of time. Whilst appreciating the intention behind the policy, in considering individuals with no connection, we have found that taking someone out of their local environment often helps relieve certain triggers which may have added to their circumstances. Working closely with homeless charities around London, we have found that local connection policies often act as a barrier in finding suitable accommodation for people suffering from homelessness.

Making a referral
Making a referral to us is easy. Simply click the link and follow the instructions to complete our online referral form. Please make sure you fill out every section with clear and concise information, as we may ask for further details if we feel its needed. Also make sure you have attached your clients supporting documents (valid identification, a proof of benefits letter no more than three months old, and a proof of national insurance). Also attach any other documents that may be relevant to your client’s support.
Once a referral has been made, we will do our best to invite them in for a face to face assessment at the nearest date if the client meets our eligibility criteria.

Please note that at times we are dealing with a high volume of referrals which may cause slight delays in the process.
Please also note that we no longer are accepting self-referrals.
The Journey
Once a referral has been processed, our assessment team may invite the client in for a face-to-face assessment.
After an assessment, the client’s case is brought to the allocations team of who determines whether the service is suitable for the client and if we have a place to offer them at the time.

We do our best to house a client as soon as possible, however, it is not always possible to give a timeframe as it is often dependant on our current occupancy. We also take care in allocating each individual to ensure we are placing them in the best environment to progress.
